The June Hong Kong Jewellery and Gem Fair is already established as the largest mid-year show of its kind in Asia, and every year it edges closer towards its goal of being the number one jewellery tradeshow in the world.
This year’s event took up 40,000 square metres of space at the impressive Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and attracted 16,685 visitors from over 100 countries. They came to see the latest jewellery and gems on display from 1,100 exhibitors representing 30 different countries.
Jime Essink, President and CEO of the show’s organisers, UBM Asia, expressed his delight at how this year’s show had gone when he said:

"We know the impact of the economic downturn on jewellery exhibitionsheld in Europe and the US so we have promoted the June Fair even harder to keep jewellery suppliers and buyers coming back and to ensure the Fair remains one of the most important international jewellery events of the year. Judging by the number of attendees and participants' response to the June Fair, we are pleased that our efforts seem to have paid off -- the global jewellery industry is picking momentum both at the Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair and across Asia."
Of the 16,685 visitors at the 2009 June Hong Kong Jewellery and Gem Fair, the vast majority were from mainland China although there were significant increases in the numbers of visitors from emerging markets, such as Brazil and Russia. There were also big turnouts for the Philippines, India, Taiwan, the US, Japan, Korea, Australia, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia and, of course, Hong Kong.
For Royi Sal, the June Hong Kong Jewellery and Gem Fair was another great opportunity to showcase our latest products and services to both existing and potential customers. Our team was kept busy throughout the show as a large number of customers dropped by to visit our booth and find out more about our jewelry products and services, with our custom design and product development services proving particular draws.
